First the disclaimer: I have done my best to provide complete and accurate information, but if you let me know I got something wrong, I won’t fight you on it, I’ll fix it ASAP. Well – I’ll do a little research to filter out any jokesters.

Any photos I’ve used have either been sourced from public domain, or given by somebody who promised they had the right to share them. If you find that you are pictured with your junior prom date, and you REALLY don’t want to be - hit me up, and I’ll edit you out. You can reach me at submissions@rememberwhotheywere.org .

Now the credits: the information that I’ve obtained has been from the National Archives, and the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS). I’m grateful that the government has this available.

The images, videos, letters, and stories have been submitted by the family and friends of the service members within.

The entirety of this site is copywritten, and duplication,

All of the thanks to the men and women who have fought, have died, and the many who continue to fight, for the greater good of our country, and the world.

Also to the families to have sacrificed everything from dinner with a loved one, to their loved ones' very lives, because they were called to serve.

I hope that this site can provide Gold Star Families and friends, a place to tell the world about the great person we all lost. I see you, and I mourn with you.
