Every hero has an origin story. These are theirs.
There's a poem I once read about the dash that exists between the date of birth and date of death on a headstone; how all of life is lived within that dash. I've found that the vast majority of tributes to fallen American military members are about the dates, and not the dash. These tributes are nearly always written by someone who appreciates the man or woman about whom they're writing, but rarely do they know the fallen hero. The summaries are made of statistics, and not stories. I intend to build something better.
This site will be a living and growing collection of photos, stories, videos, and more, that tell us who these fallen heroes were before they gave their lives. Stories of the soccer tournaments they won, lessons they learned as scouts, their reactions when they met their baby for the first time, and anything else that made them the amazing person who we lost. It will be populated by parents, siblings, friends, brothers and sisters in arms, first grade teachers, old neighbors, and so many more. This page is meant to be a virtual museum for every fallen American service person possible. I regret that there are so few resources to identify those who fell more than fifty years ago, but it is much easier to change the future than to change the past.
I hope that you will be patient as this project is huge, and multi-faceted, but very important. Please check back regularly and browse some of the pages. These men and women deserve to be remembered.
Please share this page with everyone you know! The virtual walls are still being built, but once they're up they shouldn't be bare! The more people know about this site, the more we can learn about their fallen loved one.
Thank you for visiting.
